Irish Sea Moss (Chondrus Crispus) is a red algae found along Atlantic coastlines of Ireland, North America, and Europe. Used in Ireland for centuries as a natural remedy and food source—particularly during the 1840s potato famine. It is now becoming popular as nature's alternative to snythetic supplements such as multivitamins due to it's nutrient density.
We recommend taking 1–2 tablespoons daily, ideally in the morning. You can enjoy it straight from the spoon, stirred into water or juice, or blended into smoothies. It can also be add to hot drinks or food. It’s your daily ritual of nourishment—no prep, no fuss.

The term "Sea Moss" is often misused to describe various warm-water seaweeds like Eucheuma cottonii and Gracilaria (often called Jamaican Irish Moss), which are commonly rope-grown in places like Vietnam and St. Lucia. However, true Irish Sea Moss is Chondrus Crispus, a distinct species that grows naturally in cold Atlantic waters, especially along Ireland’s coast.
Despite the widespread use of the term "Sea Moss" online, 99% of products sold under that name are actually Gracilaria, not the authentic Chondrus Crispus. The Moss Way uses only organic, hand-harvested Chondrus Crispus from the pristine coastline of County Clare, Ireland.

Our gels are made fresh to order without any artificial preservatives, giving them a 3-week shelf life. This is perfect if following the recommended 1-2 tablespoons daily. The gel can also be frozen for up to 3 months, either in the jar or in ice cubes. Once defrosted please use within 3 weeks.
